7th Grade Reading Program!  Accelerated Reader!

The purpose of the Accelerated Reader Program is to motivate 7th grade students to read for both educational and recreational purposes.  Students are encouraged to choose from a variety of genres.

Accelerated Reader Book Lists

All accelerated Reader books in the H. H. Poole Media Center are identified with a blue sticker on the spine label.

A list of all available Accelerated Reader tests is located in the Media Center.  Books are listed by title, by author, by reading level, and by point value.  You can also download the list of Accelerated Reader quizzes in the "Section Files" area at the bottom of this page.

Students wishing to check out Accelerated Reader titles from Porter Library may consult the “H.H. Poole Accelerated Reader Book List,” which is available in the Young Adult Department.

Classroom Requirements

Students’ Language Arts teachers assign each 7th grade student a required point total for each 9-week grading period.  Grading procedures vary from team to team; however, the point total is part of a student’s grade for the grading period.
